Annual Conference 2018

The Land Use Law Center is pleased to announce the 17th annual Alfred B. DelBello Land Use and Sustainable Development Conference. Scheduled for Thursday, December 6, 2018, this year’s conference theme is Sustainable Development as a Market Driver.

We invite you to spend the day at this educational event, with more than 250 attorneys, business professionals, and local leaders in attendance to learn about national, regional, and local innovations, challenges, and best practices.

As in previous years, the Land Use Law Center has been working on developing a conference program that will showcase innovative best practices in land use and sustainable development. Currently, the Center is pleased to announce that this year’s opening keynote presenter will be Christopher Leinberger, a land use strategist, professor, real estate developer, researcher, speaker, and author, who balances business realities with social and environmental concerns.  In 2017, Mr. Leinberger was named  one of the 100 most influential urbanists by Planetizen. Mr. Leinberger will give a talk on The Walkable Urban Opportunities for Metropolitan NYC...It is Not Just the City.

As always, conference participants can earn CLE, APA-CM, AIA/CES HSW and New York State planning and zoning training credits.

Additional highlights of the conference include:

  • On Wednesday, December 5th, the Center will be hosting a dinner to allow local leaders and sponsors an opportunity to add to their conference experience and network with conference presenters and to honor our Founder’s Award recipient Richard O'Rourke, Keane & Beane.
  • Featured sessions on comprehensive and target area plans, zoning tools for a new economy, water resources, energy projects and so much more.
  • Land Use Law Center 25-Year Anniversary Reunion Wine & Cheese Reception
