Ben Gershman

Elisabeth Haub School of Law professors pride themselves on their accessibility to students. Professors take seriously their roles as mentors and senior colleagues to students, providing practical advice, career guidance and opportunities to collaborate on research and advocacy projects. An open-door policy is the norm for all professors at Pace—students are welcome to stop by professors’ offices any time, whether to talk about a most recent Supreme Court case, how today’s news intersects with classroom learning, or to brainstorm about career opportunities. The faculty’s primary commitment is to providing an excellent legal education to students who intended to become lawyers or other leaders in their communities.

In addition to excellence in teaching, Pace faculty members also produce cutting-edge knowledge through research and scholarship. They are the drivers of a vibrant intellectual community at the Law School. Faculty members further engage in service to the school the University, the legal community and public through a variety of activities.

Accomplished, Intellectual, Committed and Accessible

Faculty excellence in any one area – teaching, scholarship or service  – need not come at the expense of any other. At Pace, all three areas of faculty achievement go hand in hand. Some of the faculty’s most prolific scholars win high marks for creating stimulating and challenging classroom discussions. Our faculty members are authors of leading casebooks and treatises; their law review articles are frequently published in prestigious journals. Some faculty members who perform an extraordinary number of bono legal services each year are known to be among the most vibrant and dedicated teachers in the school’s classrooms and clinics. At Haub Law, students benefit from the knowledge and experience of outstanding professors who strive for excellence in all three parts of their roles as full-time faculty members.
