Library facilities

A/V

The Law Library purchases law-related DVDs, videotapes, and audiotapes. All DVDs, videotapes, and audiotapes are cataloged and included in the online catalog.

Cell phones and telephones

Cell phones should be silenced while in the library.  Cell phone conversations are only permitted in the study rooms and lobby of the building. There are cell phone chargers available for check-out at the Circulation Desk. A charging station is available in the open study area on the third floor of Gerber Glass. A charging locker is available in the open study area on the second floor of Gerber Glass.

There is a courtesy phone located near the Library entrance for on campus and intercampus calls. All other telephones in the Library are for staff use only.

Photocopiers

Students may use the Pharos printers to make photocopies. Patrons are expected to abide by the Copyright Law (Title 17 U.S.C.) when making photocopies.

Scanner

The Law Library has a free book scanner on the third floor of the stacks behind the reference desk. Files can be saved to either a USB flash drive or emailed directly. Scans may also be made on the Pharos printers located throughout the library. Patrons are expected to abide by the Copyright Law (Title 17 U.S.C.) when making scans.

Restrooms and Water Fountains

Restrooms and a water fountain are located on the main floor (stack level 3) across from the Reference Desk. There are additional restrooms and water fountains on the ground floor and the second floor of the Gerber Glass Law Center. All restrooms are ADA compliant.

Security Gate

All books in the Law Library are treated to prevent their unauthorized removal.  The security system triggers an alarm that sounds if a person exits carrying a library book. This protects the library from theft and prevents inadvertent removal of  materials that may only be used within the library.

Space & Resources

Use of the Law Library is reserved for those doing legal research. A quiet atmosphere, conducive to research and study, will be maintained. Seating in the Glass Building lobby is available for socializing and talking.

Books from the stacks may be used anywhere in the Library. However, because the Law Library is a research library, books and research materials must be readily available to its patrons. Please do not reshelve books.  Reshelving trucks are placed throughout the library for items you no longer need.

Vending Machines

Vending machines with beverages and snacks are located on the second floor of the Gerber Glass Law Center.
