Former client credits PWJC with helping her obtain order of protection
Hearings were held in CT for a proposed bill, Jennifers' Law, which aims to expand the legal definition of domestic violence to include nonphysical forms of abuse, also known as coercive control. A former PWJC client testified and credited PWJC with helping her obtain an Order of Protection on behalf of her daughter. Despite a documented history of police reports, records from a local domestic violence agency and a letter from the therapist, CT courts had denied the order stating it did not "meet the standard."
