Haub Award for Law and Diplomacy
The Dean of Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University
requests the pleasure of your company at the conferral of the
Elisabeth Haub Award for Environmental Law & Diplomacy
This year’s Award will be conferred in memoriam to environmental defenders who have lost their lives defending their land and the environment from the destructive practices of mining, logging and agribusiness industries, among others. According to the NGO Global Witness, the number of lethal attacks against environmental defenders continues to rise, with 212 killings documented in 2019. The ceremony will be preceded by a panel discussion featuring distinguished environmental advocates and activists.
The Award was established in 1997 by the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, in cooperation with the Haub Family, to honor the legacy of Elisabeth Haub (1899-1977), a noted philanthropist and advocate for strong laws for the conservation of nature.
