Pace Energy and Climate Center Welcomes New Staff Attorney

The Pace Energy and Climate Center at Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University is pleased to announce that Jessica Laird has joined the Center as Staff Attorney and Intern Coordinator.

As Staff Attorney, Jessica oversees the Center’s regulatory and litigation dockets in New York, drafts public comments in regulatory proceedings, participates in the Center’s rate case engagement, and assists the Center’s team in preparing white papers and other reports on clean energy issues.

Jessica co-leads the Clean Energy Organizations Collaborative (CEOC) with the Center’s partners at the Alliance for Clean Energy-New York. CEOC is a coalition of more than thirty clean energy and consumer advocacy non-profit organizations and ACE-NY members, who collaborate in New York’s Reforming the Energy Vision proceeding. Jessica also leads the Center’s engagement in the Energy Efficiency for All New York coalition, through which the Center partners with other clean energy and low-income advocates to bring the benefits of efficiency and renewables to New York’s affordable multifamily sector.

Jessica holds a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Environmental Studies and Sustainability from St. Joseph’s University and earned her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, with an Advanced Certificate in Environmental Law, from Haub Law.

During her law school career, she was a student attorney for both the Environmental Litigation

Clinic and the Food and Beverage Law Clinic at Pace Law School. She was also an Articles Editor for Pace Environmental Law Review and a New York Pro Bono Scholar. As part of the Pro Bono Scholars Program, Jessica took the February 2020 Uniform Bar exam during her last semester of law school and subsequently returned to the Food and Beverage Law Clinic to perform roughly 520 hours of pro bono legal work. She is admitted to the New York State Bar.
