Haub Law students, Morgan Dowd, Marissa Cohen, and Matthew Pappalardo provided substantial assistance to the NYS Bar Association’s Health Law Section, in particular to the Task Force which was created to address legal and ethical issues raised by COVID-19. Morgan and Marissa are students in Professor Karen Gallinari's Public Health Law Class. Professor Gallinari is chair-elect of the NYSBA Health Law Section. Matthew is a student in Judge Daniel Angiolillo's Constitutional Law Seminar: End of Life Issues. The Chair of the NYSBA Health Law Section COVID-19 Task Force, Mary Beth Morrissey and Judge Angiolillo have known each other for more than 20 years in the legal community. When made aware of the Taks Force through Judge Angiolillo, Matthew volunteered to assist. The students provided valuable research, citation and editing assistance for a letter which was sent to Governor Cuomo from the Health Law Section of the NYSBA regarding the COVID-19 crisis. The students volunteered to assist during this difficult time and continue to help the task force.
