New option is ideal for working professionals, and provides flexibility for all part-time students.

WHITE PLAINS, NY – The Elisabeth Haub School of Law today announced an expansion of its current part-time program, making the Law School more accessible to working professionals and others. The new scheduling option allows part-time law students to take all of their required classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, as well as on Saturday mornings, as they pursue their J.D. degrees.

This option is the newest addition to a range of scheduling choices available to students studying at Haub Law. The Law School already offers a full-time three-year J.D. program that begins in the fall, a full-time 2.5 year J.D. program that begins in January, and a part-time weekday JD program.  With this new scheduling option, any of Haub Law’s part-time students can choose between taking their classes during the day, during the evenings/weekends, or in some combination that works for them.

“Haub Law is proud of our tradition of ‘opportunitas’ – providing new opportunities for students who want to pursue the law and legal training,” said Dean Horace Anderson. “By now offering required courses on evenings and weekends, we are expanding access to legal education and providing rigorous academics and training to those who are working professionals or have other daytime responsibilities.”

“We will offer enough evening and weekend courses to ensure that our entering part-time students can, if necessary, complete their entire JD through evening and weekend coursework,” said Associate Dean of Academic Affairs Jill Gross.  “They will also be able to register for daytime courses, including clinics and advanced electives, so that they can put together the schedule that makes sense for them each semester.”

Students can learn more about the part-time program and scheduling options here, including a list of frequently asked questions. Students can apply for this option immediately for enrollment in the fall 2019 semester. The new scheduling option will launch in the fall of 2019 subject to sufficient enrollment.
