The Alumni Board of the Elisabeth Haub School of Law is pleased to announce the election of two dynamic new members. Please join us in welcoming Joseph Moravec ’17 and Leanne Shofi ’94 to the Alumni Board.

Joseph is a member of the Pace Law School Class of 2017 with a J.D. and LL.M. in Environmental Law. He is currently at Prisoners' Legal Services of New York in Albany, where he litigates removal defense cases in the New York Institutional Hearing Program. While in law school, Joseph served as President of the Pace Student Bar Association and as Research Editor on the Pace Environmental Law Review. He interned at the United Nations, Westchester County Board of Legislators, and at St. Andrew’s Refugee Legal Services in Cairo, Egypt, where he assisted with asylum applications and advocated for increased security protections and access to healthcare for asylum-seekers living in Egypt. During his second and third years, Joseph joined the Pace Immigration Justice Clinic, where he represented several detained and non-detained immigration cases and oversaw a broad portfolio of legislative affairs activities. He also served as a delegate on behalf of the Center for Environmental Legal Studies at Pace to the International Union for the Conservation of Nature 2016 World Conservation Congress. Joseph is also a graduate of Washington & Lee University with a B.A. in Global Politics.

Leanne is Special Counsel in the Litigation group at Cuddy Feder, LLP, handling all aspects of federal and state complex commercial litigation and alternative dispute resolution. Her practice includes the representation of corporations and individuals in telecommunications and land use litigation, financial industry and business litigation, Article 78 proceedings, appeals, employment disputes, and title disputes. While at Pace, Leanne was an editor of the Pace Law Review and a member of the National Moot Court team. Both Leanne and her husband David are Pace Law graduates, their son Michael is a rising junior in Pace’s renowned BFA-Musical Theater program in NYC, and their daughter Mallory heads to college this Fall. Leanne looks forward to furthering her commitment to Pace Law as a member of its Alumni Board.

They will serve three year terms on the board, serving as leaders representing the alumni body. The Alumni Association at the Elisabeth Haub School of Law strives to build connections between alumni and the School, developing opportunities for alumni to interact with students and network with fellow alumni. Members of the Board are focused on furthering the Law School’s mission by supporting alumni in their professional development, encouraging alumni to provide financial support for the Law School, and assisting Law School in its efforts to recruit students and place both students and alumni.

Please join us in welcoming and congratulating Joseph and Leanne!
