Pace Law alumna Nada K. Sizemore (’81) receives leadership award from the Connecticut State Bar Association

Nada K. Sizemore aka Nada K. Morin '81Nada K. Sizemore aka Nada K. Morin (’81) received the 2014 Ladder Award from the Connecticut Bar Association Women in the Law Section in association with the Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section.  The Award was received at the annual Pathways to Leadership for Women in the Law event. This Award “honors a female attorney in Connecticut who has demonstrated exceptional leadership affecting women.” Nada was recognized for her “outstanding contributions toward leadership development and empowerment of young attorneys, most notably her aggressive recruiting, hiring, training, and mentoring of young female attorneys throughout her many years of practice.” To read more on Nada receiving the Ladder Award click here.

Nada is a 1981 cum laude graduate of Pace Law School. During her time at Pace, she received the inaugural Henry F. Feldschuh Award for Excellence in Environmental Law. Nada fondly remembers her time at Pace Law School, noting that Professor Nick Robinson served as a mentor to her and that many of her legal accomplishments are due in large part to Professor Robinson’s “inspiration and support during those early law school days.” She served as inaugural editor of the Pace Environmental Law Newsletter that was the precursor to the numerous environmental publications created by the Pace program today.

Currently, Nada is Associate Group General Counsel at Travelers Insurance and she has been with Travelers for over 23 years. She supervises an internal corporate legal team that serves the Travelers Specialized Distribution Business Insurance Group, with a specific focus on the transportation industry. Nada also serves as one of the Executive Committee members overseeing the Travelers Trial School Program and is certified as a trial trainer. She also has many membership affiliations, including, the Trucking Industry Defense Association (TIDA), American Trucking Association Labor & Regulatory Committee and Insurance Task Force Executive Committees, and the National Association of Women’s Judges, amongst others. She is admitted to practice in Connecticut, Illinois, and Wisconsin.

Nada was born and raised in the Chicago area and currently resides in Connecticut with her husband, David. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, tennis, writing, and cheering on the Chicago Cubs!
