The Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University mock trial team competed at the All Star Bracket Challenge Mock Trial Competition on October 2nd and 3rd. The team successfully advanced through the Regional Rounds to the National Sweet 16 Championship, which will be held in November. The Haub Law team consists of four students: Mattison Stewart (3L), Regina Rubino (3L), Kathryn Facelle (2L), and Michael McNally (2L) and are led by their dedicated coaches, AJ Muller and Michael Luterzo and accompanied by their Trial Technician, Angelo Spedafino (3L). Notably, Mattison Stewart was awarded a “Best Advocate Award” during the Regional Rounds of the Competition.

Mattison noted, “Although we only had a month to prepare, the entire team stepped up to the challenge. We all put in countless hours practicing, scrimmaging, and strategizing to get to where we are. Advancing to the All Star National Sweet 16 round would not have been possible without the guidance, support, and help of our coaches AJ Muller and Mike Luterzo. They are both alumni who successfully competed on mock trial teams while at Haub Law and turned into extraordinary lawyers with so much knowledge to share. I couldn’t have asked for a better support system with this entire team and knowing that this isn’t the end is so fulfilling. I am very excited for the National Sweet 16s and plan to bring home the trophy!”

“Advancing to the top sixteen in this competition of over 64 law schools is a tribute to the hard work of the students and the commitment of our coaching team of AJ and Mike. Mattison’s award was earned and the entire team’s performance was amazing. I am so proud of these and all our competitors this fall,” stated Director of Advocacy, Moot Court and Client Counseling programs, Professor Louis Fasulo.

U.S. News and World Report ranked the trial advocacy program at Haub Law #24 in the most recent rankings. Professor Louis Fasulo and his hard-working team lead the successful Advocacy Program at Haub Law.
