Pace Law to host MetroLALSA Pa’Lante Conference

Started in 2010, MetroLALSA serves as a regional organization for the Latin American Law Student Association members throughout the thirteen law schools in the New York and New Jersey metropolitan area. The organization is wholly coordinated and organized by law students and delegates from the thirteen law schools in the New York and New Jersey metropolitan area. Since its inception, the organization has participated in voter registration drives, immigration reform demonstrations, and has collaborated with Street Law: Know Your Rights presentations with local organizations such as LatinoJustice PRLDEF. Additionally, MetroLALSA has instituted mentorship programs for current and prospective law students, and contributed to other academic and social justice initiatives.

MetroLALSA members are committed to the advancement of Latino students in the legal profession. Each year, the organization works to host a conference to empower and unify the Latino legal community. Each conference provides pre-law students, law students, and attorneys with a forum to discuss issues concerning the Latinx community while also providing opportunities for networking and career development. This year will mark the first ever MetroLALSA Pa'Lante Conference at Pace Law to be held on Saturday, March 25. This year's conference theme is "Contra La Corriente" ("Against the Tide") symbolizing the many different struggles that Latinos face in the legal profession. This year's keynote speaker is Cesar Vargas, Esq. For more information on MetroLALSA and to purchase tickets for the event please click here and here.
