Library Computer Lab

The Library Computer Lab is located across from Circulation as you enter the library. In addition to twelve computers, there is one Pharos printer and two Lexis printers.  A second computer lab is located on the third floor of Gerber Glass.  Additional Pharos printers are located inside the library on the third flood stack level, 2nd floor of Gerber Glass (color printer) and outside of Gerber Glass 300.

Laptop computers

Laptop computers may be used anywhere in the Library. In order to print from your laptop you must download the print client available here. Contact Law ITS for assistance in configuring your laptop for use with the Pace wireless network.  Law ITS is located in on the 3rd floor of Aloysia, 914-422-4290.

Wireless network

Wireless network access is available throughout the Library. Use of the wireless network is limited to current Pace Law students, staff, and faculty. Alumni who want access should contact Alumni Relations.  Click here to check the availability and status of the wireless network.

Printing

Networked computers are connected to shared printers in the computer lab.  Pace Law School students are credited with $30 for printing per semester (fall, spring and summer).  After you have exhausted your free $30 dollar printing balance, you have the option to add Dawg Dollars for printing here or by contacting the Office of Student Assistance. Printing funds should be available within two-hours of adding funds. Printing defaults to double-sided, and costs 6 cents for the first side of a page, and 3 cents for the second side of a page. More information about printing is available here. Pace Law students have access to dedicated printers provided by Lexis that are located in the Computer Lab. There is no charge for Lexis printing if search results are sent to the dedicated printers.

Lexis and Westlaw

All current Pace Law School students are issued passwords by Lexis and Westlaw, legal research systems for comprehensive research in primary and secondary legal materials from all United States jurisdictions and some foreign jurisdictions as well. Both systems also have large databases of non-law materials. The passwords allow students to access Lexis and Westlaw from any computer with Internet access.

Use of the Law School's Lexis and Westlaw accounts is explicitly limited to the course-related research of Pace Law students enrolled currently, and full-time law faculty and staff.   Pace's contracts with both Lexis and Westlaw demand prosecution of violators of the academic use clause.

The first-year legal skills program includes training in the use of Lexis and Westlaw. The Reference Librarians conduct training sessions in the fall and spring semesters for each skills section.  Please contact Deborah Heller, Acting Library Director, for more information.

Any Reference Librarian can answer questions about searching Lexis and Westlaw. During this time, student representatives from Westlaw and Lexis will not be available for technical assistance.
