Sustainable Development in the Practice of Real Estate Law (LAW 797P)

This course is aimed at students looking to practice in whole or in part in emerging areas of sustainable real estate development.  Topics covered will change annually to ensure that students become familiar with issues and tasks they will face as they begin to practice.  Emphasis will be placed on opportunities and strategies that lawyers can pursue within the confines of evolving commercial real estate practice to encourage environmental best practices, energy conservation, green buildings, creative financing and land use techniques and, thus, sustainable development.  Guest practitioner lecturers will supplement faculty teaching.

2 credit hours.
