Adjunct Professor Narinder Kakar awarded title of Professor Emeritus by the United Nations mandated University for Peace

During the UPEACE Council meeting held in June, an award ceremony was held, where, Adjunct Professor Narinder Kakar was awarded the title of Professor Emeritus by the University for Peace. As an Adjunct Professor at Haub Law, Professor Kakar has taught the course on UN Environmental Diplomacy. At Haub Law, Professor Kakar also serves as Director of the Sustainable Development Research Program. Mr. Kakar is currently accredited to the United Nations as the Permanent Observer for the University for Peace (an institution established pursuant to a UN General Assembly decision), which he joined in 2001 following his retirement from United Nationals Development Programme (UNDP).  Until recently, he also served as the Permanent Observer of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the world’s oldest and largest environmental network, dedicated to the cause of natural resources conservation.
