Ken Coughlin has practiced as an in house lawyer for several multinational companies for the last thirty years, most recently as Senior Vice President, Law for Sony Electronics in Park Ridge, after spending several years as a litigator with the Sills, Cummis law firm in Newark. He has extensive experience in counseling business people in legal matters affecting their day-to-day activities; negotiating and drafting agreements and other commercial documents; closing business and intellectual property acquisitions and dispositions and equity investments; establishing joint ventures and other strategic alliances; and, litigating administrative law matters and managing all types of commercial litigation.

Ken has also been active in numerous pro bono activities, including establishing and running Sony Electronics Law Department's award winning pro bono program and working on numerous client matters for Legal Services of New Jersey, the Pro Bono Partnership and the former Bergen County Legal Services. He regularly lectures on legal matters of interest to non-profits and is a counselor to the small business community through his work with Bergen County SCORE. He is a member of the New Jersey bar and the United States Tax Court.
