This course will help students better understand the legal treatment of social media as it becomes increasingly relevant to both legal disputes and the practice of law. The course is designed to survey the legal landscape and will spend each week touching on several wide-ranging topics among them, jury selection, employment, defamation and e-discovery. Each student will be required to write a paper, which you may choose to satisfy the upper level writing requirement. The last third of the semester’s classes will require students to lead the discussion based on topics of interest to them.
