Every summer, law students, who already shoulder the burden of $50,000-$150,000 in student loans, work at unpaid summer internships at nonprofit organizations that serve the poor and advocate for people’s rights. With the state of the economy, these organizations are experiencing increased caseloads and rely on their summer interns more than ever. Pace Law School’s Public Interest Law Student Organization (PILSO) and Public Interest Law Center (PILC) raise funds to provide grants to students who spend their summers interning at these organizations. Our biggest fundraiser of the year is an online auction, with the proceeds going to these grants. The auction website reaches an audience which includes Pace Law School alumni, supporters, and the larger community. Last year's auction raised over $20,000 to support our students interning with public interest organizations. Help Pace Law students afford public interest summer internships by donating items or services. Donations can include retail items, tickets to sporting or cultural events, and services, such as training sessions or use of a vacation home for a weekend. All donors will receive a letter for their tax records indicating that they have made a tax-deductible gift. If you have an item to donate, please contact the Public Interest Law Center at publicinterest@law.pace.edu.  Cash donations are also accepted.
