“The faculty are accessible, which is one of the best things about a smaller school like Pace.”
Originally from Los Angeles, Scott Kantor developed his interest in the entertainment industry almost as a matter of course. A fan of a range of music genres, he worked for record companies as an undergrad and realized early on his goal of working in the recording and fashion industries.
His Pace experience has focused that goal on intellectual property and trademark law, and given him tools easily transferable to a career in the entertainment industry.
“My most valuable experiences here have been the internships and externships arranged by the university and the opportunity to work in different environments,” he said.
During an externship with the Attorney General’s office and year-long corporate internship with wine and spirit producer and distributor Pernod Ricard USA, Scott worked hands-on with licensing agreements and an international trademark portfolio.
He’s also participated in Pace’s Grand Moot Court program, and as president of Pace’s American Constitution Society, helped organize a symposium on the future of the death penalty.
“Everybody at Pace is very supportive,” he said. “The faculty are accessible, which is one of the best things about a smaller school like Pace. Teamwork is the key to any work environment, and makes for a happier life, too.”
