Pace Law School’s lecture series
highlight significant legal topics, and nationally renowned keynote
speakers are recruited to lead these lectures. Current students,
alumni in the tri-state area, and the general community are invited to
attend. These lectures provides an opportunity to increase
knowledge of current legal issues as well as debate and share ideas
regarding various legal topics.
Annual Philip B. Blank
Memorial Lecture on Attorney Ethics
The Blank Lecture has presented distinguished members of the legal
community recognized for their leadership in the area of attorney
ethics and practice.
Dyson Distinguished
Lecturer Series
The principal aim and object of the Dyson Distinguished Lecturer
Series is to encourage and make possible scholarly legal contributions
of very high quality in furtherance of the School of Law’s
educational mission.
Lloyd K.
Garrison Lecture on Environmental Law
For all his 93 years, Lloyd K. Garrison devoted his brilliance and
indefatigable energy to building a humane and caring society.
Consistent with this dedication, Lloyd K. Garrison took up the
citizens’ call to represent the Scenic Hudson Preservation
Conference in its struggle to protect the Hudson River Gorge at Storm
King Mountain. The Scenic Hudson victory is a living testament
to the ever hopeful spirit of Lloyd K. Garrison. The Lloyd K. Garrison
Lecture celebrates the vision, public spirit and life of the attorney
whose legal acumen led citizens in their successful advocacy of
environmental quality at Storm King.
James D.
Hopkins Chair in Law Memorial Lecture
The James D. Hopkins Chair in Law is an endowed Chair established with
contributions from alumni of the School of Law and members of the
legal community to honor Judge James D. Hopkins in his lifetime and
now honors his memory. The title of James D. Hopkins Professor of Law
is held by a distinguished member of the faculty for a two-year term
in recognition of outstanding scholarship and teaching. The Hopkins
Lecture is delivered by the honoree in the fall semester of the first
year.
John Jay Lecture
John Jay, statesman and diplomat, was the first Chief Justice of the
United States. In his extraordinary career of public service, Jay
served in every branch of government and held more high offices than
any other Founding Father. This lecture brings distinguished members
of the legal community recognized for their leadership.
Gilbert and Sarah Kerlin
Distinguished Professor in Environmental Law Lecture
The Gilbert and Sarah Kerlin Distinguished Professor in Environmental
Law Lecture was established to expand the School’s programs of
research, education, professional and scholarly activity and
publications in environmental law, a field for which Pace has received
national and international recognition.
Blaine Sloan Lecture on
International Law
The Blaine Sloan Lecture honors Blaine Sloan, Professor Emeritus of
International Law and Organization at Pace Law School, for developing
the international law studies program at Pace.
