While a student at Pace Law School, Professor Brotmann was Managing Editor of the Pace Environmental Law Review. His article, The Clash Between the WTO and the ESA: Drowning a Turtle to Eat a Shrimp, was published in the Pace Environmental Law Review (Spring 1999, Vol. 16, No. 2). In addition, Professor Brotmann was a member of the Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Team where he received Best Oralist Honorable Mention at the competition in Vienna, Austria.

After having served 9 years as an Assistant District Attorney assigned to the Environmental Crimes Bureau, Investigations Division of the Westchester County District Attorney's Office, Professor Brotmann served as Special Advisor on Policy and Public Information to the New York State Attorney General's Office.
