Pace Law School Welcomes New Director of Development and Alumni Relations

WHITE PLAINS, New York, Mar. 7, 2007 – Pace Law School welcomed James T. Hanley as the new Director of Development and Alumni Relations on February 5, 2007. Jim previously was deputy director at The Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City, where he was responsible for the institution’s administrative and financial operations, including fund raising.

“I am pleased to announce that Jim Hanley has joined the Pace community as the new Director of Development and Alumni Relations,” said Dean Stephen J. Friedman. “He brings the experience and commitment needed to build relationships and secure a strong future for the Law School.”

Prior to his tenure at FIT, Hanley served as deputy director at the Delaware Art Museum, where he directed the efforts of the development staff and worked with the board on the museum’s $25 million capital campaign.

“The opportunity to join Pace at this time is a particularly exciting one for me,” said Hanley. “I look forward to working with the staff, faculty, alumni, and friends of the Law School to secure the resources that will enable it to reach its full potential in education, research, and service to the community.”

Hanley spent the first ten years of his career in corporate banking as a relationship manager and business development officer. He has an MBA, along with both undergraduate and graduate degrees in architecture and a master’s degree in art history. Since joining the nonprofit sector in 1993 his professional experience has been primarily on the administrative side of museums, with a strong emphasis on development.
