Irma Russell Joins Pace Law School as a Visiting
Professor
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Aug. 25, 2005 – Irma Russell
joins Pace as a visiting professor from the Cecil C. Humphreys School
of Law at the University of Memphis , where she is a professor
teaching professional responsibility, environmental law, and
contracts.
Professor Russell is a member of the ABA Standing Committee on
Ethics and Professional Responsibility, which issues formal opinions
relating to issues of legal ethics. She serves as an officer on the
ABA Section of Environment, Energy and Resources and as the Section
liaison to the Association of American Law Schools and is a member of
the ABA Section on Legal Education, Professionalism Committee. She was
founding chair of the Memphis Bar Association Environmental Law
Section and has served as chair of the Tennessee Bar Association
Environmental Section. In practice, Professor Russell represented
potentially responsible parties, government entities, lenders, and
other clients on issues arising under the Comprehensive Environmental
Response, Compensation and Liability Act, National Environmental
Policy Act, as well as issues related to wetlands designation and site
mitigation, and other environmental and commercial issues. Professor
Russell is a member of the American Law Institute. Professor Russell
will teach courses in administrative law, environmental justice, and
advanced professional responsibility.
