Pace Law School Announces
the Environmental Consortium Merit Scholarship
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – Pace University School of Law is
pleased to partner with the Environmental Consortium of Hudson Valley
Colleges and Universities to announce a new scholarship for incoming
first year students. Pace University, through the Pace Academy
for the Environment, was instrumental in organizing the Environmental
Consortium that now includes 42 institutions of higher education in
the Hudson Valley region. The mission of the Consortium is to help
shape the future of the regional and global environment through
collaboration, education, and research. Pace University School of Law
supports the mission of the Consortium and will offer an
"Environmental Consortium Merit Scholarship" award to a fall
2006 entering student who has earned their bachelors degree from one
of the participating universities or colleges and has demonstrated an
interest in environmental issues affecting the Hudson Valley.
Scholarship benefits consist of a merit scholarship ranging from
$3,000 to $24,000 towards law school tuition, depending upon the
student’s qualifications, renewable each year based on continued
academic excellence. The scholarship recipient will be expected to
complete at least one research project related to environmental issues
involving the Hudson Valley while at Pace Law School.
Selection is based on the student’s application and academic
record. Interested students should include in their personal statement
a discussion of how they have been involved in Hudson Valley
environmental issues during their undergraduate work or why they have
a particular interest in Hudson Valley environmental issues.
