2017 Ethics CLE


In co-sponsorship with the ABA Section of Environmental, Energy, and Resources, we are pleased to offer an ethics CLE program free of charge to attorneys who judge at least one round of the 2017 Competition. Interested attorneys should complete the CLE registration form on the Judging Brochure. Preregistration is strongly urged.

DESCRIPTION: This lively two-hour presentation will examine various hypothetical scenarios familiar to environmental practitioners. Among other ethical issues, the scenarios will focus on the unique issues faced by environmental lawyers in balancing client confidentiality and various statutory and regulatory duties to report. The hypotheticals will also cover working with experts, conflicts, and the attorney client privilege. Each scenario will be presented by one panelist and then commented on by the other panelists. The moderator will highlight the potentially applicable Model Rules of Professional Conduct.
