Orientation & First-Year Assignments
Congratulations on your Admission to Pace Law School. Orientation is mandatory for entering students and constitutes the first day of classes for all first years. Orientation for the fall semester is scheduled for the week of August 26, 2013. Orientation materials will be mailed out the first week of August.
Assignments for your classes will be posted on an electronic classroom created by The West Education Network (TWEN). Through TWEN, you will access course syllabi and assignments and participate in class discussions electronically. Most professors post assignments and syllabi before the first day of class and you are expected to be prepared to participate in class discussions on that first day. In your Orientation packet, you will be receiving a Westlaw number (an access for TWEN) as well as a quick reference to using TWEN.
The Bookstore is located on the ground floor of Aloysia Hall, they will have most of the required texts before Orientation. Their hours vary, reach out them before you visit at 914-422-4057. Feel free to call and reserve your textbooks or confirm their schedule before coming to campus.
Please note that each professor has the prerogative to choose his/her own texts. All sections of the same course may not be taught by the same professor, so students may not need the same texts. To discover which texts are appropriate for you, you will need the name of the professor listed on your course sheet next to each course listed. (Each class section receives a schedule specific to their group only, rather than a master schedule which reflects all professors and times).
