Hazardous Waste (LAW 841)

This course explores the law of hazardous waste disposal and of the remediation of contamination from past, mostly unregulated, disposal of hazardous waste.  The primary focus of the course is on the Federal Resource Conservation and Recovery Act and the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act, and their state counterparts.  It emphasizes the analysis of complicated and interrelated statutes and regulations.  The subject matter and the course represents the most active area of practice in contemporary environmental law.  Prerequisite: Environmental Skills and Practice.
